Producing a Discipleship Vision • What is the most significant evidence of God’s presence in our church? • What is the most significant evidence of God’s presence in our community? • What is the best tool to help your neighbours become disciples: relationship or information? Why did Jesus draw such big crowds? • What ministry will facilitate the making of disciples here? • PCC, DSPC, School of Formation
Analysis and Review • What are we learning about the way we love and interact with each other as churches? • What are we learning about the way we accountable to one another within Bath Deanery? • What resources may be needed to develop a discipleship vision? • PCC and DSPC listen and discuss
What will it look like? A discipleship vision might begin with: Testimonies and good news stories from members of the church or community Some sermon titles or themes from the last few months Financial statements to show actual priorities The story of the church as told by its oldest member A map plotting where church members live Past vision statements Prophetic insights A statement of ministry needs A Parish audit An account of something that went wrong Examples of community engagement All of which informs and helps discerns a vision for discipleship now

Decision Making • Decisions are prayerfully reached • PCC and DSPC make recommendation to the archdeacon where there is a vacancy • The Discipleship Vision then sits alongside the Parish profile
What next? • What resources will be needed to enable this vision to flourish? • What fears or worries may continue to exist? • In the case of vacancies, the archdeacon leads the process of advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and appointing.
