  4. What does each tooth do? Molars Incisors Cut CHEW Canines Tear

  5. What is plaque? • Soft, sticky film that builds up on your teeth • Sugar Bugs like to live here • Sugar Bugs will build on each other if not removed regularly • Will irritate your gums if it’s not removed and turn them red • Will help form cavities

  6. Cavities • What is a cavity? Tooth + Bacteria (Sugar Bugs) + Acid = Decay

  8. 3 Easy Steps BRUSH Twice a day for two minutes FLOSS Daily Removes food trapped between the teeth and also dental plaque. RINSE Twice a day

What did we learn today? • What food should we choose to eat over others so our teeth stay healthy? • Fruits, vegetables, milk, fish, brown rice • What 3 types of teeth do we have and what are they used for? • Incisors for biting, canine for tearing, molar for chewing • What 3 things do you need for a cavity to form? • Tooth, bacteria(Sugar Bugs), and acid • How often and how long should we brush our teeth? • Twice a day for two minutes
