  3. Pivotal Question 1 • What is the Roman idea of “bread and circuses” and why would Emperors utilize this concept?

  4. Pivotal Question 2 • How did Roman literature represent aspects of Greek culture?

  5. Pivotal Question 3 • How did Roman law transform as Rome transformed from a republic to an empire and expanded?

  6. Group Activity • Organize into groups of four • Create 10 laws • 5 laws must be iusnaturale (natural law) • 5 laws must be iuscivile (law of a citizen of the USA) • Write your laws on a separate piece of paper as a list. Each member must handwrite at least two of your laws.
