Recruitment Historical Overview • LAPD & LAFD Recruitment Section Role: • Participate in events assigned by PSB including:job fairs, college presentations & community events • Provide information to Police Officer & Firefighter candidates already in the hiring process • Mentor candidates throughout the process • Coordinate with PSB to plan & execute recruitment campaigns, advertising, media coverage & special events • Focus recruitment effort toward underrepresented groups, including women
Recruitment Goals • Achieve a capable, competent applicant pool reflecting the ethnic diversity of the City of Los Angeles • Ensure that minorities & women are included through focused outreach • Fill all open vacancies with the most qualified candidates possible
Scope of Work Requirements/ Description of Servicesto Be Provided
Deliverables – Police & Fire • Recommendations to include: • Wide range of contacts in different markets dealing with electronic and non-electronic media buying services • The experience and qualifications of the principals of the firm who will perform the work • An explanation of how total costs for media buying services are determined and the allotment between electronic and non-electronic media
Deliverables – Police & Fire • Recommendations to include: • A list of potential value-added and/or public service offerings the company can offer the City of Los Angeles • Media outlets and purchasing recommendations • Sample buy for LAPD recruitment using a fictitious strategic purchase budget of $500,000
Deliverables – Police & Fire • Work Specifications: • Selection of media buying services, utilizing local, regional, and national resources, that attract the candidates from diverse backgrounds • Maintaining a contact list of media buying services and the corresponding current rates and special offers • Researching past performances and target audiences of media buying agencies
Deliverables – Police & Fire • Work Specifications: • Developing an up to date timeline of the progress and effectiveness of chosen media buying services • Exploring opportunities provided by sectors, branches, or those related to media buying service agencies and the competitive market
