Food Chain Lesson Review Quiz
Trophic Levels of the Food Chain *Click on a given trophic level in order to learn more Tertiary Consumer (same as Secondary Consumers) Secondary Consumers Primary Consumers Producers
Producer • Largest portion of the food chain. Autotrophic organisms; meaning, they produce there own food from the SUN. Click below to watch a video on how to remember the facts about photosynthesis! CLICK! Photosynthesis Song!
Primary Consumer • Primary consumers are strictly the HERBIVORES. They only eat plants (producer).
Secondary Consumer • Secondary consumers are carnivores because they eat the primary consumers, which are other animals.
IMPORTANT! • All consumers are also known as heterotrophic organisms because they do NOT produce their own food, as autotrophs (producers) do. • Autotrophs = PRODUCERS • Heterotrophs= HERBIVORES, OMNIVORES and CARNIVORES (ALL consumers)
QUICK REVIEW • Carnivore • Herbivore • Omnivore
Weather Lesson Review Quiz
Lightning • Cause: in thunderstorms, when liquid and ice particles above the freezing level collide and build up large electrical fields Click for Video
Tornado • Cause: when warm, moist air along the ground rushes upward, meeting cooler, drier air. Click to watch Tornado Video!
Thunder • Cause: caused by the lightning bolt! Sharp cracks of thunder are produced as the air around the lightning boltgetssuper heated (60,000 F) and rapidly expands. Click to watch Thunder Video!
Hurricane • Cause: Earthquakes generated in a subduction zone. A subduction zone is an area where an oceanic plate is being forced down into the mantle by plate tectonics. Click to watch Hurricane Video!
Earthquake Cause: Sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crust that creates seismic waves. Click to watch Earthquake Video!
