Benefits of the monitoring dashboard for the Netherlands Michel Grothe on behalf of Ine de Visser INSPIRE MIG-T meeting 11 March 2015
Monitoring process in the Netherlands 2010-2013 22 (coordinating) dataproviders Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment Monitoring Coordinator 22 days 2 days 15 days 22 days 22 days • Project plan & procedure • Kick off meeting with 22 data providers • Support during data collection • Reminding calls • Collecting 22 excell sheets • Check and join and check • Report to the Ministry
Experencies Benefits of this approach for the Netherlands • We have saved at least 20 days in resources; less coordination and less work for the dataproviders; • And no ‘burden’ to fill out, copy/paste and make valid excel sheets (not the most appealing work); • Quality improvement; this was an impulse to improve the metadata instead of working on the monitoring reporting; • Dashboard offers dedicated queries to provide specific and more up-to-date management information.
