A beginning concern . . . Learning the ‘things of God’—the things that matter the most—can only be achieved “preceptuponprecept, lineuponline, here a little, and there a little” (Isaiah 28:10)
Greater and Lesser Portion of the Word Alma 12:10 And therefore, he that will harden his heart, the same receiveth the lesserportion of the word; and he that will not harden his heart, to him is given the greaterportion of the word, until it is given unto him to know the mysteries of God until he know them in full.
Alma 12:11 And they that will harden their hearts, to them is given the lesser portion of the word until they know nothing concerning his mysteries.
There are many ways we can allow our hearts to be harden. . . .
The truth is . . . . . . just as spiritual knowledge is learned “line upon line,” so hardening of hearts happens ‘line upon line, here a little, there a little”

In a vision, Nephi was shown the latter-day Church and warned of various ways many would harden their hearts—From 2 Nephi 28:20-21, 24-31, we read:
They get angry— 20 For behold, at that day shall [the devil] rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good! . . . 28 And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the rock receiveth it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembeleth lest he shall fall.
They get casual—and say, “We need no more.” 21 And others will be pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion . . . 24 Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion! 25Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well! 26 Yea, wo be unto him that hearkeneth unto the precepts of men, and denieth the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost! 27 Yea, wo be unto him that saith: We have received, andwe need no more! 29 Wo be unto him that shall say: We have received the word of God, and we need no more of the word of God, for we have enough! 30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have. 31 Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost. Disinherited from the Promised Land—The Presence of God In the Law of Moses, if one committed a sin for which the punishment was death, they were stoned to death. Often, the elders of a community would hand the body on a tree, demonstrating what has been lost! Deut. 21:22-23: “His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thous shalt in any wise bury him that day;
Disinherited from the Promised Land—The Presence of God • “for he that is hanged is accursed of God” • The one guilty of death was not accursed by Godbecause it was hanging on a tree; he was hanging on a tree because he was accursed of God because of his sin. • The Apostle Paul: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written: Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree” (Galatians 3:12-13)

The Godhead Heavenly Father Jesus Christ Holy Ghost (Spirit)
The Holy Ghost—Minister of the Godhead James E. Talmage(1862-1933) Quorum of the Twelve Apostles [W]e read that through the power of the Spirit, the Father and the Son operate in their creative acts and in their general dealings with the human family. The Holy Ghost may be regarded as the minister of the Godhead, carrying into effect the decision of the Supreme Council. (Articles of Faith [1984], 159-161; emphasis added)
