  2. “We also predestine and condition. We decant our babies as socialized human beings, as Alphas or Epsilons, as future sewage workers” (huxley p.10) • clones are mass produced and altered according to the class they’ll be in (ie. “predestine(d) future)

  3. “standard Gammas, unvarying Deltas, uniform Epsilons. Millions of identical twins”(huxley p. 5) • Although many identical, they are ordered into classes and identified by clothing, height, and occupation

  4. “ in epsilons... we don’t need human intelligence”(huxley p.12) • Epsilons, the lowest members of the class system, are made to be “sewage workers”, the labourers of the society (huxley p.10).

  5. “prejudice in favour of size was universal” (huxley p. 58) • “smallness was so horribly and typically low-caste” (huxley p 41) • Appearance is used to place everyone into classes. For example, the Epsilons, Gammas, and Deltas are the lowest in order and shortest in height. Clothing color (khaki, rose, etc.) also determines a clone’s caste.

  6. “The incubators where the Alphas and Betas remained... the Gammas, Deltas and Epsilons brought out again; after only thirty-six hours, to undergo Bokanovsky’s Process”(Huxley p. 3) • The Alpha and Beta clones are left in the incubators for longer because they’ll become more developed, smarter, and will therefore be of a higher caste in the society.

  7. “Bokanovsky’s process is one of the major instruments of social stability! Major instruments of the major social stability ” (huxley p. 5) • The whole class system is controlled by preventing people from becoming smarter, having choices and wanting choices.
