  1. Invertebrates

  2. Types of Invertebrates • Jellyfish: Live in water. Have a soft body with poisonous tentacles to catch food. • Worms: Have a soft body with no legs. Live on the ground or in water. • Molluscs: Some have a hard shell and a foot to move • Spiders: Have eight legs. Many create webs to catch insects. • Insects: Have three parts: head, thorax and abdomen. They have antennas to feel their environment, six legs and in many cases four wings.

  3. INVERTEBRATES Of the million or more animal species in the world, more than 98% are invertebrates. Invertebrates don't have an internal skeleton made of bone. Many invertebrates have a fluid-filled, hydrostatic skeleton, like the jelly fish or worm. Others have a hard outer shell, like insects and crustaceans. There are many types of invertebrates. The most common invertebrates include jellyfish, worms, molluscs, spiders and insects.

  4. Questions • Have invertebrates got a skeleton? • Why have invertebrates got antennae? • What invertebrate has got tentacles? • What is an example of a legless invertebrate? Or What invertebrate hasn't got legs? • Can a worm live in the water? • What invertebrate makes a web and what is the web used for? • What invertebrates have got a hard outer shell? • How many animal species are there in the world? • Have spiders got six legs? • What are three types of invertebrates? • ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other questions: • Q-What type of invertebrate found in the ocean is used to clean?
