SharePoint 2010 – What’s new, what’s different What is SharePoint? • Microsoft: “collaboration software for the enterprise” • Collection of features that can be pieced together in different ways for different purposes • Runs on a server, accessed through a browser • Lots out of the box, even more with customization

SharePoint 2010 – What’s new, what’s different What’s different in SharePoint 2010? • Cleaner look and feel • Easier to build custom site themes/templates • Improved usability (if you like the Office ribbon) • Better cross-browser, cross-platform compatibility • More list/library configuration options
