Trading with the number 1 • Well technically its occupations but I like the word trade better. • First (number 1) we visit the shoemaker, who made shoes. When a shoemaker would make shoes they would measure a person’s foot and start from there. Then they would work on the heel, sole, and the outer material of the shoe. It would take around a week at least to make a simple pair of shoes.
Trading with the number 2 • Well another occupation that interested me was the wigmaker, so here we go. • The wigmaker would create wigs for men and women. (but for mostly just men.) Wigs showed a sign of wealth and so all the rich businessmen wanted one. They would also sell things that would help real hair and lice tonic which would get rid of lice. As if that would actually help. Wigmakers used real hair to make there wigs. Man there must be a lot of old people growing there hair out.
Trading with the number 3 • The last trade that we are talking about is the silversmith. • The silversmith would make silver utensils. They would also use metal which looked like real silver. Paul Revere was a silversmith. Something made by a silversmith back in the day was much more beautiful then the items we have now.
The Lil’ Slavery of Horrors • Well ok, slavery was not little but a big horrible thing that everyone hates or should hate. • It was part of the triangular trade where they traded for different items and everyone benefitted from it. White men would “own” black slaves from Africa. They were forced to do there work and bidding. Lets not go into details with there every whim and bidding. • In the Civil war slaves finally gained there full freedom. Even though they weren’t treated equal for a long time.
What they used for work • Also known as Tools. • These tools were used to build things. You may not believe this but I’m pretty sure you already know that. • They used a lot of different tools that we don’t use today because we don’t need or want them in our lives. • Some tools used were the ones we know like the saw, hammer, and planes. But they also used things like Drawknives, Spookshaves, and Gouges. See spookshaves are so old that the spell check says it isn’t a word!
What they wore • Also known as clothing. You see, we wear it too! • There clothing is really weird and strange to us. They wore very tight dresses and out of style suits that looked really weird. They also had wigs and parasols. Man these people are weird. And they went a little overboard on the design.
The first person • The first person that we talk about is Johnny the slave. He was a slave to Edmond Randolph. And you know its an ugly rich white guy when they are named Edmond. Anyway Johnny was a house slave and was also ran away in 1777 from him in December. He was successful in his act of running away and was never caught.
The second person • Is CathrineBlanikley
