Purpose • Purpose: Opportunity for YOU to see how the principles YOU learned in the module apply to some kind of device YOU use. Way to assess what YOU have learned about energy, machines, and motion.
Timeline • Select Device – Monday, Nov 29 • Project Due – Monday, Dec 13 • You will be assigned a specific date for your presentation by Friday Dec 10. • Fill in the other dates on the Time Line to meet your individual needs.
Resources • See attached sheet on proper Bibliographical Form • You must have at least 3 sources. Two of those must be books. • Wikipedia is not an appropriate resource. • Search engines (google, ask jeeves, etc) are not appropriate resources. • Possible websites for research: • www.howstuffworks.com • www.about.com

Presentation • Individual Project • Only presentation will be graded. • May do a PowerPoint or poster presentation. • If PowerPoint, you must use WebDocs (see handout) • See Mrs. Wardlaw with problems • Try out your presentation on a school computer before you give it to the class!
Device Selection • Get teacher approval on device before you begin your research! • Device must be something that you can bring and operate in the classroom. • Device should be simple enough for research, but complex enough to meet the needs of the project.
