What are Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs)? • The MMIs, or Multiple Mini Interviews are a major hurdle in the medical admissions process, and your interview performance contributes 33-50% of your combined score to determine if you receive a medical place offer. • What is the MMI Format? • MMI is a structured interview process where students are presented with 5-8 stations, each with a different question or scenario, in a circuit with other interviewees. • What is the purpose of the MMI Medicine Interviews? • The MMI format allows Australian medical schools to assess a range of different skills and attributes in a short format, allowing the interviewee to 'reset' between stations.
What are Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs)? • How are MMIs graded? • Scores can be allocated across content, structure, insight, and communication categories. • How much time do you get for MMI? • Different medical schools use different formats for the MMI, with 1-2 minutes of reading time before each station and 5-10 minutes for the station itself. Follow-up questions may be provided during the station. • How hard is an MMI interview? • The MMI is a competitive process that requires students to perform well across a range of question types and build rapport with each individual assessor. It also requires them to be able to switch quickly between different styles of questions.
