Differentiated Essential Competencies (DECs) • Differentiated Essential Competencies of Graduates of Texas Nursing Programs Evidenced by Knowledge, Clinical Judgments, and Behaviors (October 2010) • BON approval anticipated at October 2010 Board Meeting • Rule change to be posted to Texas Register for public comment • Rule anticipated effective in early 2011 • Education Programs to have plans for implementation in program curricula by end of 2011 • BON staff planning workshop focusing on implementation strategies • BON staff will solicit speakers from programs who are actively implementing the DECs
