Celebrating Celebrating Michaelmas? Michaelmas? Michaelmas is a European harvest festival, celebrating St. Michael, the courageous knight, the slayer of dragons and the doer of good deeds, traditionally being the part of the Waldorf curriculum. There’s a season of “Good Deeds”. Good Deeds are the times when we will be helpful to others. This is something like doing chores. Of course, some idealism is thrown on it. It’s an act of inducting the desire in your heart to do something helpful, whereas chores are imposed from without. The children are also encouraged to tell about the good deeds they have done. So, as a parent you should feel proud of your children to have done good things others. As they have learnt about good deeds, when they will reach to their adolescence, hope to maintain same sort of attitude towards society. Next, children learn about the organic, sustainable farming practices such as water catchment, worm composting, and environmentally friendly ways of making chicken poop smell better. They also learnt
about harvesting fruits and vegetables. Michaelmas is a harvest festival of Europe and originally from the Celtic tradition. CONTACT US https://greenpreschoolkailua.com/
