National Concern • 300-400 physicians in the US commit suicide each year • Females in medicine: 2.5 - 5.7 increased rate of suicide • Males in medicine: 1.1 - 3.4 increased rate of suicide • Medical student depression rate 15 to 30 percent higher than the general population • Mental Health concerns in ALL specialties
