  3. Mission To improve the performance of the HIV prevention workforce by increasing the knowledge, skills, technology and infrastructure to implement and sustain science-based, culturally appropriate HIV prevention interventions and strategies.

  4. Organizational Structure

Partnerships Team • Monitors the performance of 32 CBA grantees in the provision of technical assistance. • Provides national leadership to capacity building partnerships that advance HIV prevention in racial/ethnic minority populations, subpopulations, and persons living with HIV/AIDS and their partners. • For Example: CBA Summits, Awareness Days, Materials Translation and other activities.

  6. Training and Development Team • Provide training on HIV prevention strategies and interventions • Develop, review and produce training materials for HIV prevention strategies, interventions and other initiatives • Provide Technical Assistance (TA) and consultation on training activities • National networking and collaboration

  7. Science and Application Team • Primary Lead in the Diffusion of Evidence Based Interventions (DEBIs) • Technical Assistance and Capacity Building provision to health departments, CBOs, CPGs, CBAs, and PPB project officers. • STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers and M-BSSV Program • AED Training Coordination (www.effectiveinterventions.org)

Branch OperationsSupport Services Team • Coordinates and monitors the CBA Delivery Systems – CRIS and TEC • Oversee fiscal management of Branch Resources • Coordinate and Monitor critical contracts and task orders • Technical Assistance and Capacity Building provision to health departments, CBOs, CPGs, CBAs, and PPB project officers

  13. Fast Track • D-UP is scheduled to be handed off from PRB to CBB at the end of August 2008. • SiHLE and WiLLOW will be piloted in 2008 for diffusion in 2009 to all agencies that are successfully implenting.

  18. Priorities • Complete the writing and release of the CBA Program Announcement. • Conduct a review of the CBA Portal (CRIS/TEC) • Diffusion of Additional Interventions

  19. Priorities Continued • Conduct a review of the CQIIT (Diffusion) Teams • Enhance strategies at building Health Department capacity • Establish Performance Indicators that more adequately reflect the scope of capacity building.
