To sum it up until this point in the conversation… • There has seemingly always been a desire to connect with people from distant lands. • The industrial revolution accelerated this process • The technological revolution has accelerated this process even faster. • Transportation costs and Communication costs have essentially shrunken the world and brought us closer together.
This decrease in trade barriers has enabled companies to move • Things are cheaper to ship • Lower taxes to ship • Production, therefore, has been shifted to cheaper locations.
