  1. What we’ve decided so far • We’ll be making a video • Either a stop-motion or time lapse video • Our lockers will be painted • The design that will be painted

  2. Timelapse Video • An object is filmed for a longer period of time • Usually from the same position and angle • This is done in order to see how the object or its surroundings change over time • Ultimately the film is played in fast forward to get the desired effect Examples of timelapse videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrGcd6PN7EE New York timelapse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPELWmTc2E8 New York timelapse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_8VDUheI2o Tomato timelapse

  3. Stop-Motion Video • Animation technique • The object is photographed and moved in small increments between each individual photo • Creates the illusion of movement when the photos are played in a long, continous sequence • Examples of stop motion videos: • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GPg8djk5nY • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZtxHOfmhH4 • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNudcX_uUwM

  4. Painting the Lockers • We’ll be painting our lockers • Since our locker room has three sets • of lockers • We will be painting 3 different designs

  5. Skyline Idea The plan is to paint a silhouette of a city’s skyline on one of the stacks (probably the longest) Famous buildings and landmarks Making it a timelapse video: We could record us painting the lockers Play it in fast forward  create illusion of a growing city Making it a stop-motion video: In a stop-motion video we would photograph the buildings alone – without us in the background painting them Also creates illusion of a growing city

  6. Other Ideas • Paint a brain on one of the sets of lockers • Beside the left half of the brain we can write things like: • ”I am responsible for memory and vision” • Beside the right half: • ”I handle emotions” • Is relevant to what we study in biology & the natural science program on the whole

  7. Other Ideas • Paint an hourglass • Upper half of the hourglass holds a melting ice block • Lower half is a city being flooded by the dripping water • Symbolizes global warming • Represents the problems coastal cities are facing now that the polar ice caps are melting

  8. Other Ideas • Paint cross-section of people • Paint cross-section of people of different background/culture/ethnicity and/or clothing styles • The organs: brain, heart etc. are painted in such a way that it is evident that they’re all identical on the inside • This represents the fact that people are all equal
