THE PERFECT KING At long last after close to 25 years of Mariners baseball an M has tossed a perfect 27 batter game. Felix Hernandez the 26 year old righty out of Valencia, Venezuela throw the 23rd perfect game in MLB history. Hernandez becomes the 7th Cy Young winner to do so and the 2nd Latin American player as well. Hernandez throw 113 pitches 77 of them were strikes (87%). Hernandez becomes the 11thpitcher this year to throw a no hitter ( 6 of them from a combined no hitter by the Mariners) and the 3rd perfect game. Safeco Field also goes down in history as the 4th stadium of all time to have 2 perfect games in it’s history (Umber, Hernandez) and the first all time to have them in the same season.

The Hawks have already diced that last years starter Tarvaris Jackson will be the 3rd string. Seattle has stated that they will have Matt Flynn who they paid 26 million with 10 million greatened for 3 seasons will start on the bench as the backup behind the 23 year old rookie Russell Wilson out of Wisconsin. Wilson becomes the 8th rookie QB to be announced the starter.
THE STRASMETER Stephen Strasburg the Nat’s 24 year old phenom ace is at 150 and 1/3 innings pitched leaving him with about 2 to 3 starts before the Nat‘s shut him down for the season Strasburg is being held to 160-180 innings this season which Mike Rizzo the Nationals GM said they will stand by “it’s just like last year with Jordan Zimmerman” . It’s just like last year except that the Nat’s are the best team in the majors and are on the verge of making the playoff’s for the first time in franchise history and have a shot to be word champions. Other than that though it’s completely the same.
MARINERS V TWINS 1-0 The Mariners pay visit to the twin cites and send there ace there king to the mound in this series opener against the Twins. Bottom 3 Trevor Plouffe up and he gets a pitch form Felix and gives it a ride this one’s back to the track at the fence Gutierrez leaping and up and he makes the catch slamming against the wall saving extra bases death to flying things makes his return for them M’s after being on the DL with a concussion since mid June. After that the King was in control. He strikes out 5 in 9innings 1 walk 5 hits surrendered by the king. Now for the Twins pitcher Liam Hendricks he got the start with a 7 plus ERA coming to this start 0-6 on the season but he was not going down easy he throws 7 scoreless innings. Top 8 now Eric Thames comes up and he hits a fly ball to left it’s deep it just clear the fence by a foot and it's gone an ET shot that’s out of this world 1-0 M’s. and that would be your final Hendricks better in Hernandez in strikeouts and hits allowed but he lacks the big one runs as the M’s win the series opener 1-0.
MARINERS V TWINS 5-2 The red hot M’s send Hisashi Iwakuma to the mound who’s been real good lately but he would have to out pitch Scott Diamond. We go top 3 after a Bryan double and a Ackley Sacrifice and a Guti walk the M’s have runners on the corners 2 down for Mr.2 out RBI himself Kyle Seager he leads the league in that category the pitch a fastball low and away Seager hits it off the end of the bat into right field towards the gap Mastroianni in pursuit of it but it’s over his head it one hops the fence Bryan scores easy Gutierrez gets the big wave he’s scoring with no throw Seager speeds into 2nd a stand up 2 out 2 run double. After a Ben Revere Sac fly it’s 2-1 Twins in the top of the 5th. Robinson leading off they inning he singles then Ryan hits a bullet grounder back up the pipe into center Robinson puts on the jets he hauls into 3rd base it’s runners at the corners none down for the M’s. Ackley up he hits a big fly ball to deep right it’s going and you can put it on the board it just leaves the ball yard over the 10 foot fence in right 5-1, as Seattle hits a homer in it’s 11th strait ballgame. And let the staff take over form here Iwakuma 6 innings 1 hit 4 k’s he did give up 4 walks but he gets the all important W. 5-2 Final.
MARINERS V TWINS 0-10 Game 3 of the 4 game set Jason Vargas shares the hill with Samuel Deduno, but even better news for Twins fans however was that it was announced before Wednesdays game that Target field will host the 2014 MLB all star game. Bottom 3rd Vargas looking to bounce back after a rough game against the Chicago south siders, Plouffe leading off he walks then Florimon comes up he get’s free admission as well then after Revere strikes outs Carroll singles to left to fill the bases then Joe Mauer comes up he hits a bullet towards left and falls in Plouffe scores easy then Florimon as the throw is cut off Mauer hits a 2 run single but the twins weren’t done there Willingham up he flies to right Carroll tags and heads to 3rd then Morneau up he singles to center as to bloops in Mauer gets to 3rd as Carroll scores 3-0 Twins. Bottom 4 Parmelee up he hits a grounder at Smoak he lets it get past him an E3 for Smoak as Parmelee gets to 2nd then Plouffe come up and he gets a 89 mile per hour fastball middle in and tags it to deep left center Figgins tries to rob him but you can forget about it’s gone 5-0 Twins. Next inning Willingham he’s up the pitch from Vargas in almost the same spot as it was to Plouffe and it gets hammered Willingham hit this one deep Robinson not even going to try in left an upper deck shot 6-0 Twins. Bottom 7 Carter Capps comes on to pitch and he can’t seem to find a grove either Mauer leading off he triples then Willingham hits a sac fly to right Mauer scores 7-0 Twins. Then Morneau singles then 2 batters later 2 outs Parmelee singles to right runners on 2nd and 1st Plouffe up and he rips a shot into the left center gap just out of the reach of Kawasaki at short Morneau and Parmelee both score on the double 9-0 Twins. After that Deduno said “I got this” he goes 7 innings 2 hits no walks no runs and 9 K as the Twins rout the Mariners 10-0 final.
MARINERS V TWINS 5-4 The Mariners looking to win 3 out of 4 in the Twin cites as they send Blake Beavan to face Brian Duensing. Top 1 Duensing struggling early Gutierrez up with one out he doubles to right then next batter Kyle Seager he hit a single past the 3rd basemen into left Guti wheeling around 3rd to the plate as the throw comes in late 1-0 Seattle. The Twins however would answer right back Ben Revere leads off with a walk then swipes 2nd base then Alexi Casilla hits a soft blooper into left it lands right in front of Robinson Revere got some speed he scores the Twins tie it up. Next batter Mauer hits a bullet into right Casilla heading towards third Thames as a rocket arm but the throw is late to the party to put runners at the corners for Minnesota. Then 2 batters later 1 out Morneau comes up and singles back up the pipe Casilla scores 2-1 Twins. Top 6 we go same score Bryan leading off he singles then Ackley walks then Guti singles to fill the bases then Kyle Seager he hits a bullet towards the gap Revere in pursuit he makes the catch and gets it back in Bryan scores 2-2. Runners at the corners for Jesus Montero. 1st Pitch Gutierrez steal 2nd then Montero punches one into left towards Willingham he gets under it and he drops the ball Ackley scores Gutierrez to 3rd a Sac fly E7 as Montero gets to first safely and the M’s go up 3-2. then 2 batters later bases loaded 2 outs for Tryvon Robinson the pitch a slider in tight at the belt but Robinson fights it off hits a sharp grounder into right past Casilla at 2nd both Guti and Montero score 5-2 M’s! Bottom 8 Willingham up runner on 1st the pitch a fastball high and inside Robinson leaps up at the wall just out of reach clears the fence by less than a foot for his 33rd long ball on the year 5-4. But the M’s would go onto win by that same score 5-4 final.
ANGELS V MARINERS 9-1 The Mariners playing there division rival Angels in the opener of this 3 game set, Kevin Millwood set to do battle with Dan Haren. Top 1 Kevin Millwood looking for his first W since July, 1 out no one on Hunter up he singles then Pujols he walks runners on first and second for Morales the pitch a fastball high and inside is given a ride to deep right center Gutierrez leaps but it’s gone a 3 run bomb for Morales as the Angels take the early lead. Top 2 now the M’s pick up a run in the first to make it 3-1. So Millwood retires the first 2 batters then gets Trout to ground to 3rd Seager throws to Smoak at first and his throw pulls Smoak off the base so the inning continues then Hunter hits a slow roller into center for the outfield grass Ryan flips to 2nd towards Ackley but he it not there the ball goes past 2nd as Trout is there safely, Then Pujols hits a rocket up the middle Ryan grabs it tries to flip it again but before he can the ball goes in and out of his glove a roles far enough away to let Trout score bad D leads to an Angel run 4-1. Top 4 now Trout leads off and walks then 2 batters later Pujols singles then Morales singles up the middle Trout scores Morales 4th RBI of the game 5-1 Angels. Top 6 now Carter Caps takes over for Seattle fist batter Trout he singles then with Hunter batting he steals 2nd then Hunter rifles one into left down the line Trout rounding third scoring easy his 3rd run of the game as Hunter slides in at 2nd just ahead of the throw 6-1 LA. Top 9 we co Kinney takes over on mound duties first batter Aybar he triples then Callaspo he doubles in to left over the head of Robinson then 2 batters late after Izturis grounds out Bobby Wilson comes up and hits a fly ball into the bullpen his 3rd on the Season Angels go up 9-1 as they go by that same score 9-1 final.
ANGELS V MARINERS 5-2 The Mariners playing the Angels looking to bounce back after a 9-1 route last night. They Send Felix Hernandez to the mound, Felix has struggled 6-10 against the Angels lifetime. Top one Felix struggling early. With one down Hunter singles then Pujols comes up hits a big league pop up to deep right center a lot of hang time as it drops right at the warning track it one hops the fence Hunter speeds in easy 1-0 LA. Bottom 3rd no one on Robinson a one man Army hits a deep drive to right center and gone just leaves the ball yard as Robinson ties it up with his 2nd on the year. 2 batters later no one on Ackley walks then Gutierrez comes up and hits a slow roller down the left field line into the corner it rattles around back there allowing Ackley to score 2-1 Seattle. Top 8 we go now Trout leading of he singles then Hunter same story Trout to 3rd then Pujols hits a chopper towards 3rd Seager can’t handle it E6 as it roles into left Trout scores Hunter to 3rd Pujols to 2nd2-2. then 2 batters latter Trumbo hits a grounder past the hole between 3rd and short, base hit. Hunter scores Pujols right behind him he’ll score 4-2 LA. Then that’s all for the King as Pryor come in to pitch. Vernon Wells will come into the game to run for Trumbo first pitch form Pryor is a wild one to the Backstop Wells to 2nd then Kendrick up and he hits a doubles over the head of Robinson Wells score 5-2 Angels win 5-2 final.
