LBDS B2 initial commissioning • Had about 140 shots on TDE altogether • 116 shots initially extracted with corrector knob “ONE_MKD_CORRECTORS” • Vertical position ~120 mm too high on BTVDD • MSD strength error understood (2.6 mrad cf 2.4 mrad). Access to UA63/67 to modify BETS tables when confirmed with beam • Losses at exit of MSDC – poor H/V trajectory with large beam • 18 shots with MKD and MKBs on, with big vertical bump (70 urad) • Correctly extracted Looks good so far – but no detailed measurements made • Aperture of extraction channel, basic timing in, MKD/B sweep shape

  3. BTVSE BI generally looking good • BTVs – double trigger when kickers firing – still seemed to miss some acquisitions? • BLMs – looked good – logging problems • BPMSE OK, BPMD not logged • BCT – needs work still BTVD BTVDD

  4. Losses and trajectories • Plenty of losses seen during whole period • Losses every shot on TCDS • BTVSE with Al? Check by taking this out next time • Steered to avoid losses on MSDC and MKBs

  5. Other observations • Had one shot onto the TCDQ • 2nd manual I&D – not quick enough to re-enable the LBDS I&D • 1 bunch through the MSDs to TCDQ • Saw clearly on loss logging • No trajectory data found for this shot  • YASP autosave ON by default during these days?

  6. Initial trajectory • Reconstructed from screen data: started with +2.4 mm and -35 urad at Q5. • Trimmed down as much as possible (70 urad) at 07:10 on 6/08

  7. Outline of LBDS stuff still to do… • Still some tests without beam to make • 450 GeV checks of 45 connection (ongoing) • Energy tracking with 4 sectors connected (several ramps – can parasite) • I&D sequence & timing for B1 • Beam tests • Need trajectory and optics moderately well sorted • Do the basics for B1 • Then plough into measurement programme… • 2-3 shifts with present conditions • Start tonight with B2? • Need to make sure no beam into 56… • Concerns about not rocking the boat on J-1….
