Sense of Social Responsibility was Influenced by HP Corp. Objectives • Deeply touched by HP’s corporate objectives on ‘Citizenship,’ when I first saw them and started working for HP in 1983. • And my living in United States, from 1973 to 1992, enhanced my sense of gratitude to Konganapuram area, where I grew up, and the desire to do something there • HP gave me an opportunity to return to India in 1992 thru HCL-HP joint-venture, where I met Bob Congdon and Mason Byles
AGN School 1998 The AGN SCHOOL began in June, 1998 in a renovated family farm house with less than 200 students

RC of Adelaide Parks Project Objectives To contribute to the development of Southern India through improving the secondary education opportunities for young people of limited means in rural areas.
RC of Adelaide Parks AGN School Scholarships Project • Scholarships - Donation of six scholarships to be awarded to needy, gifted year 8 students. • Scope - tuition, books, coaching, uniforms and accommodation. • Duration – Years 9 thru 12 ( matriculation). • Cost - $3,400 each or a total of USD$20,400 • Generous support from District Grants as well as Victor Harbor $5500 & Hindmarsh Club $6000, Adelaide Parks Donors, & Fund raising from activities including Quiz nights
This Project passes the four way test ! • Addresses the truth • That the poor and needy in rural India are deprived of a sound education. • That rural communities need help to become self sustaining • Is fair to all • To students normally excluded from a sound education. • To communities not supported by skilled professionals. • Builds Goodwill & Better Friendships • With the most populous country in our region. • Demonstrates our concern and desire to help. • Provides us with a better understanding of a neighbour. • Provides a direct link to needy people in a third world country. • Establishes a relationship with a Rotary Club in that region. • Is Beneficial to all concerned. • Allows young individuals to reach their full potential. • Will assist community self help –providing pre-university education for undergraduates. • Raises our awareness of the plight of our neighbours.
