Document Analysis : The Crisis “These are the times that try(chip away at) men’s’ souls. The summer soldier(temporary soldier) and the sunshine patriot(someone who loves their country) will, in this crisis, shrink(retreat) from the service of their country; bur(the reason/fight for freedom) that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny(abusive ruler)…is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation(desirable part) within us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” -Thomas Paine, Intro to The Crisis, December 19, 1776
