  2. A Resource Model • Something like a list of things (resources) • Something like an architecture of these things • Some type of capabilities model

  4. Men • Agents used to plan and conduct material transformation • Normally used in conjunction with some machine

  5. Material • The entity that gets transformed or gets used in the transformation • Material is usually referred to as product substance, i.e., raw material

  6. Machines • Entities that are used to increase power, precision and direct a material transformation • Many classes of machines • Machines within machines

  7. Money • The entity that makes getting men, material and machines possible.

  8. Types of Architectures • All kinds of architectures in a manufacturing facility • Physical • Logical • Organizational

  9. Functional Architecture • How tasks relate to each other • Sales • Marketing • Order entry • Production control • Process planning • Etc.
