Saving Pictures from Alice • First click the Play button • Click the Pause button to stop the action • Click on the Take Picture button • This saves a picture on the desktop as capturexx.jpeg • Numbering starts at 00 and increments for each picture you take 01, 02, 03, … • You can move the picture to another directory • And rename it Georgia Institute of Technology

  4. Create a Billboard in Alice • You can add a picture to Alice as a billboard • Click on File and then on Make Billboard • Locate the picture to add Georgia Institute of Technology

  5. Position a Billboard • Click on the Add Objects button to see the mouse controls • Click on the billboard reference in the object tree • Use the mouse controls to position the billboard • Click on Done when you are done Georgia Institute of Technology

  6. Use a Picture as a Texture Map • Click on ground in the object tree window • Click the properties tab in the details window • Scroll down to the Texture Maps • Click on the + next to Texture Maps • Click on the import texture map button Georgia Institute of Technology

  7. Picking the Picture for a Texture Map • Select the picture to import • And click the Import button • Set the ground texture map to the new texture map picture • In the properties Georgia Institute of Technology

Putting a Picture in a Frame • Put a room in a world • Add a PictureFrame object • Use the mouse controls to position it on the room wall • Click on the reference to the PictureFrame object in the object tree • Click on the + and select matte • Click on the properties tab • Click the Texture Maps + • Click the import texture maps button • Select the picture to use • It shows up upside down Georgia Institute of Technology

Summary • You can save pictures from Alice • Use the pause button to stop the movie or game • It will save to the desktop • You can create billboards from pictures • Using File and Make Billboard • You can use pictures to make texture maps • In the properties tab of the details window • Open Texture Maps • You can put a picture in a picture frame in Alice • By changing the texture map of the matte Georgia Institute of Technology
