  2. Apollo Moon Landing Missions It is forty years since the last Apollo Moon Landing. To commemorate this anniversary. Every form in year 7 • Will take part in special Space themed lessons in Science and maybe other subjects • Special space themed quizzes in form time • In Science lessons will take part in team building exercises, problem solving, so that they can prepare for….

  3. Space Centre Challenge Day Half of the Day will be Spent touring around the space centre itself. Attractions 1.Planetaurium Show 2. Simulator 3. Various interactive exhibitions 4. Gift shop!

Mission Objective: To build, and then launch a probe to rendezvous with Comet Encke • Scenario: In the not too distant future, a team of scientists and engineers are on a daring mission to take an up-close look at a comet as it streaks its way across the solar system. Their goal is to plot a successful course to rendezvous with the comet and launch a probe to collect scientific data on the object.

  6. Mission Objective: To build, and then launch a probe to rendezvous with Comet Encke They must first construct the space probe and then plot the correct intercept course. What seems at first to be a routine exploration is filled with exciting challenges and emergencies. Each obstacle that stands in the way of a successful mission requires students to work together as a team and problem solve the solution.

  7. Mission Objective: To build, and then launch a probe to rendezvous with Comet Encke  The crew working in Mission Control needs to maintain the safety of their team in space. To achieve this they must give concise instructions, document the research and also analyse data sent from the crew in space.

  8. We Need You! • Navigators • Medical Staff • Data Analysis • Remote (Space crane Operators) • Probe team • Life-support • Isolation (Repairs, Able to work by themselves in deep space

  9. When • Tuesday 9th July - Two form groups • Wed 10th July – Two form groups • Thursday 11th July – Two form groups • Thursday 17th July – two form groups • Will have to be some movement between form groups, due to costing!
