Lake Monitoring Program Baseline data collection of six (6) lakes and reservoirs on the Reservation
Surface Water Monitoring • The WREQC had 46 water quality sites for 9 years now we are down to 21 core water quality monitoring sites. • We use a YSI monitoring equipment to collect 10 chemical parameters and a Son Tek Flow Tracker for flow measurements (cfs)
Macroinvertebrates Program • The WREQC 106 program started the Macroinvertebrates collection in 2002, and collected macros at all 46 sampling sites with QAQC at 10% of these sites. • The 106 program has also collected macroinvertebrates at various NDPES and Alpine sites
Outreach Program • The WREQC Water Quality program works with the Wyoming Indian School District and The Native Waters summer Program.
Inter-Agency Coordination • The WREQC participates in numerous on-sight inspections with the BIA, BLM, the Shoshone Oil & Gas Commission, and the Oil & Gas Companies throughout the Reservation. • WREQC participates in various regional EPA/State/Tribal water quality meetings: Non-Point Source, Basin Advisory Group, NPDES/WQS, TMDL Workgroup
On Sight Inspection of the Devon natural gas and Coalbed methane
NPDES Program • The Wind River Reservation has 34 federal NPDES permits and 4 State permits for a total of 38 NPDES permits. • Completed downstream water quality assessments below the Reservation NPDES oil and gas discharges in 2005.
