  1. Mrs. Gesenhues’ News Week of 9/16/13 • Reminders • Keep turning in raffle ticket money! They will send more tickets home if you want more to sell. If you have tickets that you are not going to sell, please return those to school as well! Thanks! • First grade is in charge of a “cooking” basket! Feel free to send in favorite utensils, cookbooks, recipes, favorite ingredients, pans, or be creative and we will collect them here in our classroom. We will be collecting items all week! • If you have not already completed the chaperone training for the district please make plans to attend one of these meetings if you intend to volunteer in our classroom. If you are unsure whether or not you have already completed the training please contact the front office and they can let you know. • September 8th @10am HMS Media Center • September 27th @2pm WES Gym • September 30th @7pm HMS Media Center • Progress reports will go home September 23rd. We use a simple checklist sheet to let you know areas of concern. If you have specific concerns or questions about anything that is sent home on the 23rd please feel free to contact me. • I am in the process of updating our class website to put useful tools on there for you and your child. Please check in every once in awhile to see news, updates, pictures, and other communication items! You can locate our website through the school website under quick links. Dates 9/17/13 Kentucky Kids Day 9/18/13 First Quart Mid-Term 9/21/13 Big Top Movie Night and Dinner @6:00 9/22/13 Big Top Festival @12:00 9/26/13 Market Day Pick-Up 10/7/13 Picture Day Ringmaster of our big top The “Ringmaster” in our classroom each week will also fill the role of “line leader.” They will get to share all about themselves on Monday morning with their “All About Me” poster and we will all fill their bucket that day as well. When you get the poster on Friday please fill it out over the weekend and send it in Monday.
