  3. How many categories? Currently the speaking rubrics at UDB have 4 categories: Output (30%) Grammar (30%) Vocabulary (20%) Pronunciation (20%)

  5. IELTS Fluency and coherence Lexical resource Grammatical range and accuracy Pronunciation (Scale is 1 to 9)

  6. TOEFL “Scoring is holistic, based on 3 categories (scale is 0 to 4)” • Delivery: clear, fluid, pace, intonation (sustain for whole time without repetitions) • Language use: grammar & vocab. • Topic development: how fully you answer, how clearly you express your ideas, how you connect ideas.

  7. CERF RANGE (Linguistic) ACCURACY (Linguistic) FLUENCY (Pragmatic) INTERACTION (Sociolinguistic) COHERENCE (Pragmatic)

  10. Fluency Words spoken per minute Keep speaking without long pauses Relevance of the response to the question Use functions appropriately Clear, logical organization

Accuracy Basic and Intermediate grammar (see list for details) Advanced grammar (connectors, clauses, conditionals, complex tenses, etc.) Basic/Intermediate Vocabulary (familiar topics, collocation, parts of speech, count/non-count, etc.) Advanced Vocabulary (higher level words, academic language, idioms) Pronunciation of words and sentences
