WHAT DID WE LEARN?Mooresville Graded School District Site Visit • Grades 3-12 are one-to-one • Grades K-2 share 150 MacBooks • Each school has a “HELP DESK” • The district has NEVER been an IMPACT Grant funded school • Demographics • 5600 students • 40% free and reduced lunch • 73% White, 15% Black, & 12% Other • 120 Interactive Whiteboards

  4. WHY? WHAT IS IT? It is NOT a technology project; it is a change in teaching and learning A method to provide content 24-7 A method to personalize learning • Close the digital cap • Relevant instruction • 21st century readiness • Real world experience • Improve academic achievement • Moral imperative

  5. THE IMPACT MODEL • The IMPACT Model focuses on “the way we do business.” • The IMPACT Model will IMPACT: • Teaching • Learning • Motivation • Student Achievement

THE IMPACT MODEL Implementing the IMPACT Model • Step 1: Building Support • Administrators, Faculty/Staff, Students, & Parents • Step 2: Readiness Assessment • “The Instructional Framework” (i.e. Technology, 21st Century Skills, Common Core/Essential Standards, etc.) • Step 3: Setting the Stage • Scheduling, Processing of Equipment, & Articulating the Vision
