  2. His three ships the Pinta, the Niña and the Santa Maria sailed from Palos, Spain, on August 3, 1492.

  3. August 3, 1492 -the Pinta, Niña, and Santa Maria set sail from Palos, Spain. March 15, 1493 – the Niña and the Pinta retuned back to Spain October 12, 1492 – island San Salvatore January 18, 1493 – started to sail back to Spain

  4. Columbus was greeted by the Arawak people who lived on the islands..

  5. They offered food, but had only a little gold. Columbus was disappointed not to find Asian treasures.

  6. Columbus discovered America and changed the world for ever.
