  2. BEYOND BULLETS & BELOW BOOKS • Guns are a topic of concern among teens. When teens have possession of a gun, they are most likely up to no good. It is very common for a teen in a gang to have access to weapons and carry guns. Whether you have one yourself or not, it’s likely that you have heard of someone who does. The teens that you know that carry these weapons often secretly take them to school for protection and that has caused for most New York City schools to set up metal detectors for the student to go through before being allowed to enter the building.

  3. PAST THE SCANNING Once a child brings the gun past scanning he is free to reek havoc on the school, guns in NYC schools are more familiar with the school than books.
