Purdue iGEM 2012 Meeting Friday 6/15/12
Recap of the Past Week’s Work • Tried to find a team to collaborate with • Made iGEM twitter • Made competent cells in bulk – currently testing that they are competent • Discussed 3A vs. Gibson Assembly • Quote for OmpA – Silicatein from DNA2.0 • Start transformation of parts for AIDA construct • Assigned and divided projects
Division of Projects • Rachel – Characterizing silica, toolbox, design experiments for SBP • Rubeena – Design experiments • Mrudula – Construction of AIDA, modeling with JMP • August – help with AIDA and start testing with OmpA-Silicatein • Amanda – Experimental design for AIDA and biofilm characterization, make reagents for each day
Plan for the Next Week • Transform parts for AIDA construction • Start 3A assembly of parts • Start Modeling with JMP • Research ways to characterize parts • Start designing experiments to extract quanitative data
Journal Review! • Read a paper on syn bio and write a summary report and post it on dop box • Read another paper that is found in the drop box? • Summary Papers help with finding info faster • Keep up with syn bio world and gather ideas
To Do for Next Week • Everyone needs to research a paper in either: • An aspect of the overall project • Syn Bio • Research assays to do for silica and biofilm formation and present pros and cons • Also what do we need to order?? • Update on formations/assembly
