Kevin’s Four Themes • Leverage the Strength of Being ITS • Recognize and affirm that IT at Penn State is larger than ITS, and strengthen our relationships with campuses and colleges • Put the core business of Penn State in the center of service design and delivery • Develop a culture of collaboration and teamwork

DLT’s Six Goals • Develop a culture of collaboration and team-work by integrating more fully with ITS • Strengthen our partnership with the Library to better serve students, faculty and staff • Look for operational efficiencies and invest in R&D for new technologies • Commit to professional development, training, and information sharing • Implement project management in collaboration with our Library partners • Make DLT a "preferred workplace"

Current Priorities: Infrastructure & Operations • Annual Lifecycle: 170 DLT public workstations; 264 Library workstations, laptops, 17 printers • Development of environments for CMS • Network security • Eight hardware firewalls • IPAS Phase I • Desktop and file space remediation • Investigation of storage solutions • Email, calendar migration: planning • Disaster Recovery

  5. Current Priorities: Research & Development • CMS development • DPubs software testing • MetaLib Upgrade • SIRSI/Unicorn maintenance • Internet2 ShibLib pilot
