Outline • Program Description • GEAE IETM Status • P&W IETM Status • Depot Level IETM Status • Other IETM Status • Planned Digitization Schedule • Summary
Program Description • Digitize Propulsion T.O.s at I and D level • Comply with Secretary of Defense mandate to digitize Operations and Logistics data • Single program manager (Ms Sandy Davis, ASC/LPC) assigned by PPGM to oversee tech order digitization program
General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) IETM Status • Engines power F-16, B-1B, B-2, and U-2 aircraft • GEAE IETMs incorporates Type 1 data • Initially implemented on F110-GE-129 in FY99 • F110/F101/F118 Intermediate and Depot Level tech data implemented in IETM format • On-going issue: lack of infrastructure at ANG bases • Prevents a paperless T.O. environment for F110 family
GEAE IETM Status (Cont’d) • Capitalizing on use of common data • Established common data among F110 family Intermediate level tech orders • Required labor-intensive review at Tinker AFB • Author once, use many times • Reduces sustainment costs • Reduces authoring errors • Requires vigilance to keep common as recommended changes are processed • Will institute use of common data for F110 family Depot level tech orders in Spring 2004
GEAE IETM Status (Cont’d) • Pursuing web-based distribution option • Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS) developed by MSG/MM will provide the vehicle for web-based distribution of IETMs • F110 IETMs to be the first Type 1 data system to be hosted on ETIMS • Planned for ETIMS Spiral 1
Pratt & Whitney (P&W) IETM Status • Powers F-15 and F-16 aircraft • F100 IETMs incorporates Type 2 data • F100-PW-229 Intermediate level IETMs • Successful field service evaluations conducted at McEntire AFB SC, Elmendorf AFB AK and RAF Lakenheath England • Received Certificate of Networthiness (CON) from HQ AFCA on 8 Aug 03
P&W IETM Status (Cont’d) • Received Certificates to Operate (CTO) from each MAJCOM F100-PW-229 Implementation began on 14 Jul 03 • Implementation to be completed by Mar 04 • Pursuing web-based distribution option • F100 IETMs to be the first Type 2 data system to be hosted on ETIMS • Planned for ETIMS Spiral 4
P&W IETM Status (Cont’d) • F100-PW-220 I level IETMs • Obtained Certificate of Networthiness and MAJCOM Certificates to Operation (CTOs) • Implementation scheduled for Jan – Sep 04 • F100-PW-100/200 I level IETMs scheduled for digitization FY05-06
IETMs In Use At Depot • The F110 Engine Shop at Tinker AFB is paperless • IETMs data is hosted on an OC-ALC/LI central web page • All GEAE IETMs can be accessed from this page • All GEAE IETMs Rapid Action Changes (RACs) can also be accessed from this page • Both desktops and handheld tablets with wireless capability are used • F100 IETMs implementation at Depot is scheduled for FY05-07
Other IETM Status • TF39 (powers C-5) • Intermediate/Depot Level Tech Orders • Anticipate Intermediate Level IETM delivery by Summer 04 with Depot Level later in 2004 • T56 (powers C-130) • Intermediate/Depot Level Tech Orders Scheduled for digitization in FY05 • TF34 (powers A-10) and J85 (powers T-38) • Scheduled for digitization in FY06 • TF33 (powers B-52, C-135 and C-141) • Intermediate Level digitization scheduled for FY04-05 • Depot Level digitization scheduled for FY06
Summary • Propulsion is leading the USAF in implementing digital T.O.s • GEAE F110/F101/F118 IETMs working well • F100 IETMs currently being implemented in JEIMs • Other Propulsion T.O.s planned to be digitized by FY07 • Web based distribution approach progressing well • F110/F100 IETMs planned to be first data systems to be hosted on ETIMs
