Payload Proposal Form Title/Name of your Payload Concept: STEM Academy Passive Atmosphere explorer payload Team Leader (Name/School/Phone/e-mail): Jeff Dunker / STEM Academy / 303-269-7413 / Jeffrey.v.dunker@ulalaunch.com Payload Concept Description: The goal of this year is to build a payload that will eject from the rocket and continue a passive flight through the atmosphere. This payload will contain sensors such as GPS that will aid in the flight and descent of the payload. There will also be sensors that measure environmental data. Team Description: The team will be made of 4 to 8 students of experienced prior year payload team members with possibly beginners assisting them from the Highlands Range Location Sell Your Project/Team Here:The STEM School and Academy team has demonstrated that it is able to build functioning and successful payloads for the past two years. Last year, the STEM School and Academy flew four successful data logger packages in one G class payload module. One collected data from a Digital Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and Barometer with EEPROM data storage. A second used an analog accelerometer and SD card data storage. A third collected GPS data to a SD card, while the fourth collected the first successful middle school FUTURE video footage in color and sound which showed the entire flight profile. Using lessons learned and the desire to do more with the payload, the goal of this year is to build a payload that will eject from the rocket and continue a passive flight through the atmosphere. This payload will contain sensors such as GPS that will aid in the flight and descent of the payload. There will also be sensors that measure environmental data. Through this payload, the STEM School and Academy Payload Team will be able to build upon past success and explore new frontiers in payload jettison, geo-location, and flight endurance. As well, the STEM School and Academy Payload team will have the opportunity further test its ability to measure flight data by using an array of sensors. If your payload is Not selected for a firm launch slot, will you build a payload for a backup slot : Yes
