Losing My Religion for Equality • Women and girls have been discriminated against for too long in a twisted interpretation of the word of God • Severed ties with the Southern Baptist Convention after 60 years • View that women are inferior to men is not restricted to one religion
Losing My Religion for Equality • This discrimination, unjustifiably attributed to a Higher Authority, has provided a reason or excuse for the deprivation of women's equal rights across the world for centuries • It excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime
Losing My Religion for Equality • It also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives, and continues to deny them fair access to education, health, employment and influence within their own communities • "The justification of discrimination against women and girls on grounds of religion or tradition, as if it were prescribed by a Higher Authority, is unacceptable."
KaylinHaught – God Says Yes to Me I asked God if it was okay to be melodramatic. And she said, “Yes.” I asked her if it was okay to be short. And she said, “It sure is.” I asked her if I could wear nail polish or not wear nail polish. And she said, “Honey,” she calls me that sometimes she said, “You can do just exactly what you want to.” “Thanks God,” I said. “And is it even okay if I don't paragraph my letters?” “Sweetcakes,” God said, who knows where she picked that up “What I'm telling you is Yes. Yes. Yes.”
