  4. Career and Technical EducationOfferings and Enrollments 2009-2010 • Over 130 courses are offered for students to consider • Over 26,000 students took a CTE course in middle school • Over 30,000 students took a CTE course in high school

Belvoir Elementary School • Fashion Camp • Middle School • Business and Information Technology • Family and Consumer Sciences • Technology Education • Career, Search and Investigation (CSI ) Course • Tech Adventure Camp

CTE Touches K-12 • High School • All six program areas offer courses to high school students • Students gain valuable leadership and communication skills by being able to participate in career and technical student organizations such as FBLA, FCCLA, FEA, HOSA, DECA, TSA, and SkillsUSA • Students may earn an industry credential by demonstrating a professional skill level • Students may participate in coop/internship opportunities • Students take part in career experiences

  9. 21st Century Skills Rigorousacademics, 21st century skills and career and technical education, will benefit every student.  We need the best of what CTE offers, along with the best of what the Partnership for 21st Century Skills calls for – critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity - for every student. Integrating 21st century skills and career and technical education into the entire education system will put more students on the path to success.
