New techniques in dance • Being En Point • Using the man to make the woman weight less. • Woman were made the main star of the show • Starting at the Barre when training was popularize
Inventions added to new ballet dances The point shoe made the ballerina higher than before. Although their predecessor was heels, Invented by king louis the 14th. Typical layered skirts used made it hard for ballerinas to be light so a lighter skirt was invented.
Themes The themes of the ballet in the romatic era was suppose to be romance. In the first dance starting the romantic ballet era was about a poor girl that was beautiful and the prince loved her, but so did the another man. She dies and is considered abondon on her wedding day because the prince tried to wed her, there for making her a willie( a ghost type creature) when the prince comes amoungst the willies. The girls save the prince because she loves hime.
How this affects us now This era’s inventions are still used today. The point shoe still used in modern ballet, as well as the light skirt. Partnering is not as famous as it was in the romantic, but still used. The barre is probalby still as popular as it was in the romantic era which majorly contibutes to the ballet today in practice.
