  2. NCFE LEVEL ONE Brief: Café Project Your client has recently purchased a property in the Leeds Arcade: Leeds. He wishes to open a café in the property, the space covers three floors. You will be designing the interior for the ground and first floors, the basement will be the kitchen and washroom spaces. The client has an interest in the interiors of a particular architect/designer: the name of which you have been given. Research this architect/designer, the periods in which they worked and the projects/designs they created. I have waved a magic wand and removed the listed status of this property so you can remove all ornamentation etc to fit in with your design. Create an interior to illustrate the ideals/philosophy of your architect/designer. Choose furnishings, décor, dressing to suit. This is a chance to show off what you have learnt this year, think of all we have covered, what you have practiced and come up with a showcase for your skills and knowledge. Note: If it were me I would do the full/main part of the project in an A3 Hardback sketchbook.

  3. Checklist: Research and collect imagery and information on your designer/architect which will assist in your design. (Place in front of development Pack along with Brief and checklist.) Produce 2 minimum A5 Mood boards (2D or 3D) for your client’s approval. (I want to see these asap) Produce 4 minimum A3 development sheets prior to your final design. (These are as well as your general research) Showing ideas for layout, design, feature detail& colour scheme. Contractual Plan showing full Dimensions: including the shop/café front elevation.1:50 on A3 Paper Presentation Plan (rendered) Produce at least 1 rendered visual perspective. One point or two, it doesn’t matter which. Elevations of Walls not shown in perspective Rendered shop front elevation including the name of the café(your decision) Produce a sample board or attach to plans/ elevations and label Mount work to A3 presentation Boards or place in Display Wallet.
