Final Project MIS 470 | Matt Greenthaner & Lindsey Houser
User Requirements User Expectations: To be able to input visitor information accurately and securely to a database. Output Constraints: None System Constraints: There are no limitations in terms of storage or space. The site will be designed using the ASP.NET Framework and will have between 1 to 3 web forms. Time Constraints: The project will be due by Friday, December 14th 2011. Funds Constraints: There are no funds dedicated to this project. Skill Constraints: The project will be composed as the semester progresses and new skills will be obtained in C# and ASP.NET along the way. Technology Constraints:Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server Management Studio will be used to develop the web page. Users should be able to open and use the site through any internet browser. External Factor Constraints: The project will progress as new skills are taught.
Use Case: Print PDF Forms • Allows the user to edit and print the Proof of Identity, Internet Consent, and Photography Release Forms anytime, anywhere there is Internet Access. The user can access these forms by going to the Engineering K-12 Outreach Center Homepage, and clicking on the Internet Consent, Proof of Identity, and Photography Release forms under Quick Links.
Use Case: Register School • Allows the faculty member to log-in and check if the school is already registered. If the school is already registered, the system outputs a message, “This school has already been registered!”. If the school has not yet been registered, the faculty member should fill out the School Registration Form to register the school. The system will insert the new school into the SQL database and output the message, “You have registered successfully! Your school Identification number is: [school ID number]”
Use Case: Register Student • Allows the faculty member to register a student once he/she has turned in appropriately signed copies of the Proof of Identity Forms and Internet Consent forms. If the faculty member makes a mistake he/she can click the Reset button. After the form is completed, the faculty member should click the Submit button. The system will insert the newly added student into the SQL database and output a message, “Your ID for this event is [student ID number].” Also, in case of a mistake or change, the faculty member can Edit who has registered and their information based on the school using a Grid View located on the Admin page.
