The Breakfast Clubpresents Traditional breakfast and Soups
Members Abi Ventour Ainka Scott Alister Bain James Mc Barnette Malcolm Antoine Merlisia John
Objective • To provide a quality traditional breakfast with soups on Saturday 22nd March 2008 to derive funds for the Father Mallaghan Home for the Boys within our stipulated budget utilising project management
Planning! • Planning for the project entailed the creation of a comprehensive checklist • Regular team meetings • Close communication • Follow up/ Feed back
Execution! Stay tuned!
Delivery- Analysing the Objectives • Provided a quality traditional breakfast on time - Feedback included comments • Just as mine I make at home • I don’t normally eat sardines, but this sardine tastes good - Repeat customers • Raised funds to a total of: $ EC 1168.25 • Project management techniques: • Risk management and contingency planning • Communication and team dynamics
Challenges and Response • Resistance from vendors who perceived competition • Bakes ran out, we substituted with bread • Cold soup, our contingency was to use a portable stove, we used an alternative location to warm soups. • Price was deemed high by patrons and we adjusted immediately
Effective and ineffective project management • Effective: planning, execution, coordination, good communication and team work. • Ineffective: • Standardisation of sizes of items (Quality control). • Assumption was made as it related to target market and the pricing of foods because of charity.
Take home lessons • Good Team dynamics! • Paying attention to minor details!
