  1. Recap of UI, Sketch and Part ModelingAnswers to common issues Fusion FIRST training 2011

  2. How do I find a command? The Ribbon toolbar is organized by category. To find a sketch tool, look in the Sketch section. To find a tool that operates on a solid body, look in the Solid section.

  3. I have a new, blank document. How do I start a sketch? Simply pick any sketch tool and you will be prompted to pick a plane to start sketching on. If you start from a blank document, you will be given the option of sketching on any of the 3 standard planes.

  4. I entered a value for a sketch dimension. But after editing a second dimension, the first one changed. What happened? Entering values in Sketch Heads-Up Displays creates transient dimensions. These dimensions are free to change if other changes are made to the sketch at a later point. Use the pin or the Sketch Dimension tool to create a permanent dimension that will not change.

  5. I have invoked a command (e.g. rectangular pattern). What do I do next? How do I use this command? To learn how to use a command: Before invoking, Mouse over the command and wait. You will be presented with a tooltip or video that explains how the command works.

  6. 2. Once a command is invoked, look at the context ribbon. It will give you a hint about the inputs required to execute the command This command expects some objects to be selected, and a direction for the pattern. Note that the green check mark will not be enabled until the inputs have been satisfied.

  7. 3. The tooltip for the invoked command will give you hints about what to do next. 4. The Heads-up display items also give you hints on what to do next. 5. Use the Fusion Wiki Help! http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Inventor_Fusion/enu/2012

  8. How do I use a Manipulator? Mouse-over a manipulator component and pause for a couple of seconds to get help in the form of a tooltip.

  9. What is Construction Geometry? When would I use it? Construction geometry is non-model helper geometry. For example, a Work Plane can be used to define a mirroring plane to mirror features. A Work Axis can be used to define the center of a Circular Pattern
