  2. Where the marked item data originates

  3. Saves you from having to jot down notes with a pencil and paper • The “marked items” data can be leveraged for batch updating of Voyager • Can also be leveraged in the canned reports Access file If “marking” items doesn’t update Voyager, what’s the purpose?

  4. ShelfLister “Marked Item” values are a configuration option. They can be anything that is appropriate for the project at hand.

  5. ASCII Voyager server - (S)FTP file from Voyager server …using the FTP/SFTP client of your choice

  6. A ShelfLister marked items file … is a pipe-delimited (“|”) flat file

  7. It’s still a flat file, but now it’s in Access

  8. Access makes it easier to “slice and dice” the data

  9. An example…

  10. You can do the equivalent of all those Access steps with one UNIX command…

  11. What is this “Pick and Scan” thing?” It’s in the documentation.

  12. 142 (for example) items batch updated…

  13. This table just has a bunch of ID numbers. I wanted the titles and authors and...

  14. If we import the Marked Item file into the Voyager ‘reports.mdb’ canned reports Access file…

  15. We can join that table with other tables in a query…
