A History of Achievement • From 4 to now 110 nationwide • Training over 160,000 entrepreneurs annually • Provide 14:1 ROI on Federal investment • Full spectrum of clients: Emerging, Missing Middle, Growth • Community-based, locally-customized; high level of multiple partnerships • Serve women of color, economically disadvantaged populations at a higher than average rate • Demand continues to rise; serving ~ 350 clients/month

What Have We Done Lately? • In 2010 each WBC: • launched 121 new businesses • created 333 new jobs • assisted new and existing firms whose collective local revenues totaled $12.2M • In 2010 WBCs collectively: • helped to create 36,578 new jobs • Helped to launch 13,301 new businesses • supported firms that contributed a collective $1.3 billion to the US economy • WBCs use federal resources efficiently and effectively • WBCs use their SBA funding as seed capital to create additional value

Public Policy Committee 1. Secure & Increase, when appropriate, Federal Appropriations. Be aware of the timeline and budgeting process. Individual responsibility. Message points simple, clear and well defined and able to be quickly and easily communicated. 2. Maintain, manage and develop relationships with the professional staff and spheres of influence in Washington. The House and Senate committees which effect our legislation ( In priority order) 1. Small business 2. Appropriations 3. Finance 3. Educate and inform our members of the importance of consistent and meaningful relationships with their Federal elected officials. Members should be aware who in their territory serves on which committee. 4. Annual Hill event. 2011 was a big success.
