Thefuture in English can beexpressed in manydifferentways: • Simple future (will and begoingto) Simple Future has two different forms in English: "will" and "be going to”. Both "will" and "be going to" refer to a specific time in the future. *Will 1) Totalkabout a futureactionorevent at thepoint of decision: Oh! Youhavejustbrokenthevase! Don’tworry, I willrepairitmyself 2) Tomakepredictionsaboutthefuture (Predictions are guesses about what might happen in the future) The year 2222 will be a very interesting year 3)To make promises I promise I will not tell him about the surprise party

Be + infinitive Isusedtotalkaboutofficialplansorarrangements in a formal style. The Prime Minister is to visit Africa next month Ifusedwith a perfectinfinitive (tohave + pastparticiple), itindicatesthat a plannedeventdidn’thappen.I was to have returned last month, but I changed my mind.
