  4. Akbar • Babur’s grandson • Military Conqueror • Used heavy artillery • Appointed rajputs “sons of kings” as officers • Religious tolerance

  5. Akbar • Married 2 Hindus, Christian and a Muslim • Did not tax non-Muslims • Taxation similar to US (income tax) • Blended Cultures – art, language, edu

  6. Jahangir • Akbar’s Son • Wife handled things (Nur Jahan)

  7. Shah Jahan • Jahangir’s son • Assassinated all rivals • Wife – Mumtaz Mahal • Taj Mahal • Not focusing on important things (famine, no tools for farmers – taxed)

  8. Aurangzeb • Took over when dad was sick • Executed his bro • Put father in jail • Expanded Mughals to greatest extent • Oppressed people (rigid laws)

  9. Aurangzeb • Tried to get rid of Hindu accomplishments • Brought back taxes on non-Muslims • Hindus fight back • Taxes for wars and expansion • No loyalty to him • Falls apart after his rule
