Intellectual Trends Chart Education- The scholars, Lahore, Delhi, Ajmer, Sialkot, Multan, Ahmadabad, and Alla taught the official language in the Maktabs (like elementary schools). This helped the people learn how to read and write the language. Philosophy- Kabir discovered that communication was a song called padas and rhymed couplets (words). Ramananda stated that all text should be in the Sanskrit language. This helped everyone know the language in text. Religion- Through out the years of Akbar’s childhood he was introduced to many religions including, Hindu, Christian, and Islam. He also created the divine faith. This combined characteristics of several religions with a central belief in the infallibility of all decisions reached by the emperor. Politics- Akbar centralized the government which made it a lot easier to control and administer. Economics- Zamindars (local officials) were expected to forward the rest of the taxes from the lands under their control to the central government. This allowed the government to obtain money. History- Babur founded the Mughal Dynasty. It started with a small kingdom in Turkestan and he expanded it with military force. Akbar developed military to govern each region because it was to big. Scientific Trends Chart • Physical Sciences- ? • Biological Sciences- ? • The Mughals believed in a mixture of Indian Astronomy and Indian Astronomy. This allowed them to understand the positions of the sun, moon, and stars. They made many Zij treatises. These helped them understand the seasons. • Medicine- It all started with Avicenna (980-1037 A.D) creating medicines using earth, air, water, and fire (Greek Medicine). Hakim Abdul Majid (1883-1922) created a small clinic and a herbal medicine shop. This helped heal the sick people.
