  4. Breaking Down • Make sure to start your technical report has a section called "Goal Analysis" after the instructional goal. • Goal Analysis (14 points, bold)

  5. Writing • WRITE TO THE AUDIENCE WHICH MATERIALS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE LEARNERS IN A NARRATIVE FORMAT. YOU ARE TO ALSO TIE YOUR NARRATIVE BACK TO THE GOAL OF YOUR INSTRUCTION. IN THIS CASE, THE DEWEY DECIMAL SYSTEM. YOU ARE TO ALSO TIES YOUR NARRATIVE BACK TO THE GOAL OF YOUR INSTRUCTION.

  6. Writing • Currently there are several books that cover the Dewey Decimal System. These volumes are either written for a professional librarian learning how to catalog and classify books or are for a younger audience learning the basics in a school setting. Neither of these are guides for library pages to learn the basics of shelving.

  7. Writing • AFTER THAT, WRITE A NARRARIVE EXPLAINING WHY YOUR INSTRUCTIONAL MODULE WILL BE BETTER THATN OTHERS. ALWAYS USE EXAMPLES TIEING BACK TO YOUR GOAL (DECIMAL SYSTEM AND SHELVING).

  8. Writing • There are also several websites dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of shelving. However these websites are made specifically for an individual library. These websites could be used for individuals to learn about how the Dewey Decimal System works and the basic facts about shelving, but may not be the best way to teach volunteers about a specific library.
