Using Databases • I first had to create a new account with EBSCO in order to access many of the other database features outside of the search function.
Preferences • One nice feature of the personalized database that EBSCO offers is that I can have separate printing and sorting functions that normally users do not use, yet when used, are critical time savers. • Here, I can change the layout of the record, one of the skills on the technology skills sheet.
Searching Records • Instead of simply using the search feature, I was able to use the advanced search feature and then change the fields of search, adding or subtracting different fields depending on what I was searching for.
Searching Records • I searched for “online assessment tools,” but then I also added new fields and added “money” to my search under the “Abstract” field. • I am currently researching online assessment tools and was curious about such technology and its cost.
Searching Records • I was also able to figure out how to change the format of the field by finding the “page options” tab and following the directions according to how I want the records to read.

Thus Concludes Module 4… • Databases turned out to be much more than I thought, but my research skills are thanking me every time I use them. • My updated technology skills checklist is inserted into the post on my blog! • -Zachary Taylor
